New Student Registration & Orientation at Colorado Mountain College at Spring Valley
Now that you have made the decision to attend the Spring Valley campus, it is time to take the next step and attend New Student Registration (NSR) & New Student Orientation. During NSR you will learn about academic programs and campus life, meet with an advisor, and register for classes. All incoming student are required to attend a Registration and Orientation. Parents are encouraged to attend as well. Come to NSR ready to work and have fun.
It is crucial to your success that you are placed in the classes that are right for you. We focus on academics by assessing your current English, math, reading and writing. Any student who has not placed into college level English, math and reading with ACT or SAT scores or is not transferring-in college course work in English and math, must take the Accuplacer computerized placement assessment. The Accuplacer test will be offered during NSR.
All incoming students for the 2017 Fall Semester must attend one the following NSR sessions:
NSR I – June 29-30, 2017
NSR I will begin the afternoon of Thursday, June 29 and end on Friday, June 30 around 5:00pm. Students must RSVP by June 24. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of June 29. There is a fee associated with the NSR.
NSR II – July 6-7, 2017
NSR II will begin the afternoon of Thursday, July 6 and end on Friday, July 7 around 5:00pm. Students must RSVP by July 1. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of July 6. There is a fee associated with the NSR.
NSR III – August 7-8, 2017
NSR III will begin the afternoon of Monday, August 7 and end on Tuesday, August 8 around 5:00pm. Students must RSVP by August 1. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of August 7. There is a fee associated with the NSR
NSR IV – August 24-25, 2017
Students will move into the residence hall Wednesday Evening August 23 and will finish up with NSR IV up on Friday August 25 in the afternoon. Students must RSVP by August 19. On-campus lodging is not available in the residence hall for guests during this session. There is a fee associated with NSR.
New Student Orientation (NSO) introduces students to campus resources, strategies for success in college, and opportunities for fun. If you were a student who attend NSR I-II or II you will move into the Residence Hall on Friday August 25th. All students who attended NSR I, II, III, & IV are required to attend NSO, August 25-26-27, 2017.
It is Mandatory for all new full-time students at Spring Valley to attend New Student Orientation. It will start the in the afternoon on Friday, August 25 and end on Sunday evening.
