New Student Registration & Orientation at Colorado Mountain College at Spring Valley

Now that you have made the decision to attend the Spring Valley campus, it is time to take the next step and attend New Student Registration (NSR) & New Student Orientation. During NSR you will learn about academic programs and campus life, meet with an advisor, and register for classes. All incoming student are required to attend a Registration and Orientation. Parents are encouraged to attend as well. Come to NSR ready to work and have fun.

It is crucial to your success that you are placed in the classes that are right for you. We focus on academics by assessing your current English, math, reading and writing. Any student who has not placed into college level English, math and reading with ACT or SAT scores or is not transferring-in college course work in English and math, must take the Accuplacer computerized placement assessment. The Accuplacer test will be offered during NSR.

All incoming students for the 2016 Fall Semester must attend one the following NSR sessions:

NSR I – June 27-28, 2016
NSR will begin the afternoon of Monday with testing, June 27th and end on Tuesday, June 28 around 5:00pm.  Students must RSVP by June 20. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of June 27.  There is a fee associated with the NSR.

NSR II – July 7-8, 2016
NSR will begin the afternoon of Thursday with testing, July 7 and end on Friday, July 8 around 5:00pm.  Students must RSVP by July 1. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of July 7.  There is a fee associated with the NSR.

NSR III – August 4-5, 2016
NSR will begin the afternoon of Thursday with testing, August 4 and end on Friday, August 5 around 5:00pm.  Students must RSVP by July 28. On-campus lodging is available in the residence hall for students and their guests on the evening of August 4.  There is a fee associated with the NSR

NSR IV – August 25-26, 2016
Students will move into the residence hall Thursday morning August 25th followed with testing in the afternoon and finish up on Friday August 26 in the afternoon. Students must RSVP by August 15.  On-campus lodging is not available in the residence hall for guests during this session. There is a fee associated with NSR.

New Student Orientation (NSO) – August 26-27-28, 2016
NSO introduces students to campus resources, strategies for success in college, and opportunities for fun. All students who attended NSR I, II, III, & IV are required to attend NSO.

It is Mandatory for all new full-time students at Spring Valley to attend New Student Orientation. It will start the in the afternoon on Friday, August 26 and end on Sunday evening.
