New Student Registration & Orientation at Colorado Mountain College at Spring Valley

Now that you’ve made the decision to attend Spring Valley Campus, it’s time to take the next step and attend New Student Registration (NSR) and New Student Orientation (NSO). We can’t wait to see you are Colorado Mountain College.

Summer 2014 New Student Registration Dates:

  • NSR I- June 19-20, sign up by June 13
  • NSR II- July 10-11, sign up by July 5
  • NSR III- August 21-22, sign up by August 16

So what’s the plan?

New Student Registration begins at 8:30am on Thursday and ends on Friday around 3:00pm.

All incoming students are required to attend a New Student Registration and it is also recommended for parents. Fill out the registration form and pay here, online, to finalize your registration for the event you plan to attend.

You do have to pay for your New Student Registration when you register online to hold your spot at the NSR event you plan to attend.

Students:  During New Student Registration you will learn about academic programs, meet with an advisor, and register for your classes.

Parents: New Student Registration is your orientation to our college.  We have your days filled with information sessions and wonderful opportunities for you to ask questions.

Placement testing for English, math and reading

If you have taken the ACT or SAT and placed into college level English, Math and Reading, the college will use these scores to determine what classes you are ready to take.  Any student who has not placed into college level English, Math and Reading with the ACT/SAT, or has not taken the ACT/SAT, or is not transferring in college course work in English and Math, you must take the Accuplacer computerized placement assessment.

If you plan to take the Accuplacer tests here at CMC while attending an NSR there will be a $10 fee per test.  For example, if you are at college level in Reading but not in English and Math, then you need to take two tests which would cost $20.  If you have not taken any tests and need all three then it would cost $30. You must pay this fee before you take the tests.  If you find you have questions, please contact Vicky Valentine in Admissions.  My contact information is below.
