When is Student Orientation and Registration?
SOAR IV – January 13-14, 2016
Begins on Wednesday, January 13 and ends on Thursday, January 14. Students will move into the residence hall on January 13. Students must RSVP for SOAR by January 6. On-campus lodging is not available in the residence hall for guests. There is a fee associated with SOAR.
How do I sign-up for Orientation?

Do I have to attend Orientation?
Yes. All incoming students are required to attend Orientation. The material covered will be essential to your transition into Colorado Mountain College (i.e. placement tests, information on campus resources, advising and registering for classes, etc.). This also applies to transfer students.
What is the fee for?
The fee charged ($175) for Orientation includes your food and housing during SOAR and covers the sessions and services utilized. The fee also covers all the Welcome Weekend events and activities that take place during the first week of the semester.
When will I receive my Orientation Confirmation?
After you register for Orientation online, you will be sent an Orientation confirmation. You will receive additional information, including a schedule of events, via email approximately two weeks before SOAR.
When can I register for spring classes?
You will register for classes when you attend Orientation. You will meet with an advisor, register and pay at that time.
Can my family come too?
S.O.A.R. is open to all family members. Guests wishing to attend SOAR will be in charge of finding their own lodging, but we will provide meals on-campus. The cost for off-campus guests is $40 for the first guest and $30 for each additional guest.
How do I get to Steamboat Springs?
Air: You can fly into Denver (DEN) and rent a car or take a shuttle or fly into Hayden (HDN) and rent a car or take a shuttle.
Shuttle: Alpine Taxi will provide shuttle service to and from the Hayden airport as well as to and from Denver International Airport. Check for current rates at www.goalpine.com.
Car: Steamboat Springs is about 3.5 hours from the Denver airport. Take I-70 west to the Silverthorne exit, Highway 9 to Kremmling then take Highway 40 west to Steamboat Springs.
What should I bring to Orientation?
Bring any SAT or ACT scores, college credit or AP scores, personal scholarship information, and financial aid awards and admissions correspondence if you have any questions.
Make sure to bring a bathing suit and a towel for the hot springs!
What if I can’t attend any Orientation Session due to extenuating circumstances?
This is a very rare occurrence; students are required to attend SOAR. in order to take classes at CMC. Orientation takes place the week before classes start, so you should be available and ready to move-in and get started for the semester. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact:
