The material covered will be essential to your transition into Colorado Mountain College (i.e. placement tests, information on campus resources, advising and registering for classes, etc). This also applies to transfer students.

What is the fee for?

The fee charged ($175) for Orientation includes your food and housing during Registration and covers the sessions and services utilized. If you choose to make alternative lodging arrangements, the cost is $145.

The fee also covers all the Welcome Weekend events and activities that take place during the first week of the semester.

When will I receive my Orientation Confirmation?

After you register for Orientation online and your registration is processed, you will be sent an Orientation confirmation email. You will receive additional information, including a schedule of events, via email approximately two weeks before S.O.A.R.

When can I register for fall classes?

You will register for fall classes when you attend your Orientation. You will meet with an advisor, register and pay.

Can my family come too?

S.O.A.R. is open to all family members. During the first two S.O.A.R. sessions family members are welcome to stay on-campus. The fees are $75 for the first guest and $40 for each additional guest (includes meals and housing).

If you are bringing only one guest, she or he will be assigned a roommate. Students are assigned to other student roommates randomly during their stay.

Guests wishing to stay off-campus can still participate in S.O.A.R. and on-campus meals. The cost for off-campus guests is $40 for the first guest and $30 for each additional guest.

What if I can’t attend any Orientation Session due to extenuating circumstances?

This is a very rare occurrence; students are required to attend S.O.A.R. in order to take classes at CMC. We try to space the Orientation sessions throughout the summer to accommodate everyone’s schedule. We even have an Orientation session scheduled right before classes start. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact:
