What is the fee for?

The fee charged ($175) for Orientation includes your food and housing during SOAR and covers the sessions and services utilized. If you choose to make alternative lodging arrangements, the cost is $145.00. The fee also covers all the Welcome Weekend events and activities that take place during the first week of the semester.

When will I receive my Orientation Confirmation?

After you register for Orientation online, you will be sent an Orientation confirmation. You will receive additional information, including a schedule of events, via email approximately two weeks before SOAR.

You will register for classes when you attend  Orientation. You will meet with an advisor, register and pay at that time.

Can my family come too?

SOAR is open to all family members. On-campus housing is available to guests for the June and July SOAR sessions. The fees are $75.00 for the first guest and $40.00 for each additional guest (includes meals and housing). On-campus housing is not available for the August SOAR session. Guests wishing to stay off-campus will be in charge of finding their own lodging, but we will provide meals on-campus. What if I can’t attend any Orientation Session due to extenuating circumstances?

This is a very rare occurrence; students are required to attend SOAR in order to take classes at CMC. We try to space SOAR sessions throughout the summer to accommodate everyone’s schedule. We have an Orientation scheduled the week before classes start, so you should be available for that SOAR if you cannot make the first two. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact:
