Genius and insanity: CMC Theatre’s ‘Proof’ considers both sides of equation
David Auburn’s play “Proof” opens Feb. 7 at Colorado Mountain College in Spring Valley.
Catherine and her father Robert are alike in many ways, leaving Catherine to worry whether she’ll inherit his genius for math, his mental instability or both. Her sister Claire and her father’s student Hal help Catherine shed light on which it will be.
The cast of four features CMC theater students Cora Wettlin as Catherine and David Collier as Hal. CMC theater graduate Cassidy Willey plays the role of Claire, and veteran actor and director G. Thomas Cochran plays Robert. They are directed by Brad Moore.
The play will be performed Feb. 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees Feb. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. in the New Space Theatre at Colorado Mountain College in Spring Valley. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors, staff and faculty and can be reserved at email@example.com or 947-8177, or purchased with cash or check at the door.
