This course will cover basic issues in immigration law that affect immigrant communities in Colorado and the U.S. Students will learn about some statutory law and about eligibility for family-based visas, U-visas, T-visas, VAWA, DACA, and the Dream Act. The course will also briefly touch on removal and detention proceedings for visa holders and non-immigrants as well as crimes that involve detention and removal proceedings. Whether you are an immigrant yourself or have worked or lived with one, if you want to have a better understanding of how immigration law works, this is the course for you.
