Winter Carnival

Join us at the Neas Family Student/Community Dining Center for a Welcome Reception and Program from 4:30 – 6:30 pm followed by the Winter Carnival Night Extravaganza and Fireworks.

Heavy appetizers and refreshments will be served.

A $10 Winter Carnival button is required for entry. Buttons will be available at check in, they are also available at several locations in town.

Space is limited and an RSVP required!


Limited parking is available in the Lower Bristol parking lot for guests attending the event. See Parking Map. Additional guest parking is available just down the hill at the Community Center, located at 1605 Lincoln Avenue. A shuttle bus will run from the Community Center to the campus beginning at 4:15 pm and continuing throughout the evening.

50 Years of Historical Treasures

A panel presentation will showcase CMC Leadville archives and plans for organizing, preserving, digitizing, and providing online access.

A celebratory reception will follow with heavy hors d’oeuvres, a DJ spinning tunes from 1967, and an opportunity to peruse items from the archives and speak with presenters.

The CMC 50th Anniversary Program followed by a dessert reception will top off the evening. Campus tours given throughout the day.

1 – 7 pm
1 – 3 pm – Campus Tours
3:30-4 pm – Presentation: 50 Years of Treasures from the Archives, hors d’oeuvres
4-5 pm – Reception, hors d’oeuvres, DJ spinning 1967 tunes, view archives and speak with presenters
5-6:15 pm – 50th Anniversary Program
6:15-7 pm – Dessert Reception

As one of the first campuses, archives extend back to the planning and founding of CMC.  Attendees will enjoy seeing some of the historic images from the founding of CMC and learning about how these will be digitized and be made available through our library system, Marmot. Jordan Fields from Marmot will explain how that will work and show some examples from the digitization project. John Major, an archivist from CMC Steamboat Springs, will show how he is helping the CMC libraries get their archives in order and accessible, Christine Whittington (library director) and Bob Hartzell (retired faculty) will present items from the collection, and Ed Chusid will discuss historic items from Central Services.

Spring Art Show

Join us for a special Art Opening Reception during our Annual Fine Arts Show, followed by a 50th Anniversary program and dessert celebration. Enjoy beautiful hors d’oeuvres and beverages, music and conversation, and connect with old friends and new while perusing a wide variety of fine art created by our diverse artist community here in Garfield County.

CMC West Garfield Campus in Rifle invites all artists living within Garfield County to enter works in all media (2- and 3-dimensional) in our spring juried fine art exhibit. Prizes will be awarded: 1st – $250; 2nd – $150; 3rd – $50.

Awards will be announced the night of the opening reception. Show applications will be posted later this week. Application deadline is March 3rd.
