Art Behind the Screen Film Appreciation course
Instructor Leonardo Santana
graduated from the Madrid Film School and has worked in film and television for ten years around Europe and Mexico, working with important directors like the two time Academy Award winner Pedro Almodovar. His 35mm thesis short film Sleepless Eyes, has been shown in more than Thirty international film festivals.

Students will gain a heightened awareness of composition, editing patterns an overall comprehension of film evolution and history. Employing sensitivity and critical intellectual tools students will analyze films independently and develop their own criteria while utilizing important vocabulary (camera movements, angle types, axis of action, etc.) analyzing dramatic value and capital knowledge for film appreciation. (students must be 17 years or older to register)
