CMC Summer Technology Institute
What is the Colorado Mountain College Summer Technology Institute?

The Colorado Mountain College Summer Technology Institute is a week-long, technology-packed learning adventure. Institute students will learn about the technical, creative, and business aspects of technology. Students will work in the new CMC Computer Lab, accessing state of the art hardware and computer applications and work with experienced instructors who are professionals at the forefront of their fields. Students will learn web site development, digital photography, e-commerce shopping carts, Photoshop, video production and editing, and more. At the end of the week, teams of students will apply and present all of their new skills in the form of a final team capstone project.

Institute Mission
The mission of the Colorado Mountain College Summer Technology Institute is to provide participants with an opportunity to experience the dynamic, multi-faceted worlds of technology in a week-long enrichment institute.

Summer Drawing with Lenka Sage

Wednesdays, July 23-August 13, 1-5 pm at CMC Edwards

Many people are afraid to draw, but the truth is that drawing is not as hard as it seems. If you can relax, get

your mind around the task, and begin to understand what you see, you can draw. In this 4-lesson course, you’ll learn how to

analyze what you see in the world around you and communicate it on paper. Through hands on projects, and guided by a

professional artist, you will explore the critical concepts of line, mass, form, perspective, value, and composition, building

a solid foundation for all your art and design work. You will also delve into complex drawing techniques involving value,

color, and contemporary stylistic approaches. Most importantly, you’ll also discover that drawing can be fun. Did you know that

spheres have inner edges? Or why artists measure with their thumbs? Grab your charcoal and chalk pastels…this course is

The site was the final resting place of 41 different kinds of Ice Age animals including mammoths, mastodons, giant bison and more. It is one of the most significant discoveries in North America. Bring the kids and learn more about the discovery!

The Ice Age Discovery Center is located on the Snowmass Village Mall. Parking is provided in lots 4, 5, 8 and 9.

DSLR Photo Fundamentals Plus @ Edwards

Class Description

If you’re serious about leaving the Program or Auto Mode” and” making make full use of your DSLR camera this course if for you. You’ll learn how to use ISO, shutter speed and aperture to capture the images you want. We’ll examine composition, metering, raw vs. jpeg, essential gear and more. It will be necessary to pick up pre-course instructions at the front desk and contact instructor prior to class. Accuplacer Testing @ CMC Dillon
Jul 24 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Accuplacer is used as an assessment tool for college readiness and placement into mathematics, reading and English classes.
The fee is $10 per subject (3 subjects total) and is non-refundable.
Payment is due before testing.
You must have an application on file prior to testing.
Please bring your picture ID and college ID number.
Cell phones and beepers must be turned off and out of sight upon entering the testing center.
Only one retest per subject per semester is allowed.
Students must wait a minimum of one week to retake a test.
Testing at Dillon is in room 11.
