October – November 2013
I’m Down is the story of Mishna Wolff, a shy, painfully uncool young white woman who grew up in a poor black neighborhood and attended an elite white school. This clever memoir will have you laughing—and also questioning what it means to be poor and white and black in America.
Mishna Wolff will visit Breckenridge’s campus on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
Stop by the front desk of either Breckenridge or Dillon to purchase your Common Reader BOOKMARK for $6.00, which comes with a copy of the book.
Consider encouraging your students to buy the book and get ready to participate in the author talk and classroom discussions that will be part of Summit’s Fall Semester.
Thank you in advance for your interest in the Common Reader program, which opens up learning conversations among staff, faculty, students, and community members.
