Introduction to Avalanches Field Session on Vail Pass. Fast progression covers the latest techniques. This is an on-the-snow avalanche class. You will learn cutting-edge rescue, beacon use, group dynamics and stability analysis. Small class size allows for extensive hands-on training. Course follows guidelines of the American Avalanche Association. Prerequisite is Introduction to Avalanches classroom session. Details of field day are reviewed during classroom session. Creative Holiday Card Making (Pitkin County Senior Center) 12/12

Come tap into your creative side and make beautiful handmade holiday cards. Session will begin with a demonstration of how to make a handmade card using rubber stamps and embellishments. No experience necessary and all materials supplied. Leave with lower blood pressure and some wonderfully unique cards to give to family and friends! Class meets Thursday, 12/12, from 1p-3p at the Pitkin County Senior Center.

Class Description

In this three-hour workshop, we will explore and learn about these three popular applications on the Mac. These are three built-in applications on the Mac, which are both fun and easy to use. You will learn how to surf the web, how to use the Safari program effectively, how to save your favorite web sites with bookmarks, how to organize your bookmarks, how to search effectively for information on-line, and how set up parental on-line restraints for your children. Using Mac Mail, you will learn how to write, send, receive, reply, forward, organize and delete emails. You will learn how to send attachments, how to save attachments that others send you, and how know if your attachments are properly sized. Using the Mac Address book, you will learn how this program integrates with Mac Mail, and how to add people and groups to your address book.
