About the film

The screening of the important 2009 documentary, Vanishing of the Bees, will be followed by a demonstration and discussion of local bee issues led by Summit County ‘bee wrangler’ Larry GillilandHoneybees have been mysteriously disappearing across the planet. Known as Colony Collapse Disorder, this phenomenon has brought beekeepers to crisis in an industry responsible for producing apples, broccoli, cherries, and a hundred other fruits and vegetables. The film follows beekeepers as they work together to find a solution that will save the bees.
Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm in the Finkel Auditorium of Breckenridge’s campus

OUT-snowshoe-storm.jpgThe first class meeting day is mandatory. In order to receive a certificate of completion ALL classes must be attended. Students must be at least 18 years old to register and will be responsible for their own avalanche equipment (beacon, shovel, probe pole). All students must have back country snow gear (AT or Tele skis) with skins, or snowboard and snowshoes, or split-board with skins. A one ride lift day pass may be needed (about $33) and a $25 fee will be collected at first class for AIARE material.

Class meets T&W, 12/3-12/10 from 6p-8:30p at the Aspen campus, and  Sa&Su, 12/7-12/8, from 8a-4:05p, in the field.

The Off-Broadway surprise hit musical, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” opens at Colorado Mountain College in Spring Valley Dec. 5.

The musical comedy revue, with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, celebrates the complicated song and dance of couple-hood. “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” celebrates the agony and the ecstasy of dating, marriage, childrearing and finding love past 30.

CMC Theatre’s production of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is directed by Sue Lavin and with musical direction from Terry Lee. It features an ensemble cast of six, including four current CMC theater students. Performances are Dec. 5-7 and 12-14 at 7 p.m., with a matinee Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., in the New Space Theatre at Colorado Mountain College in Spring Valley.

Tickets can be reserved now at svticketsales@coloradomtn.edu or 947-8177, and are $20 for adults and $15 for students, seniors, staff and faculty.

Upcoming shows for the spring season are “Proof,” Feb. 7-9 and 13-16; and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” April 4-6 and 10-13.
