Basic Physical Conditioning principles and a program of exercise are introduced in this course. Emphasis is on the development of flexibility, strength, and cardio-vascular fitness. Intro to Massage Therapy @ Colorado Mountain College

Doctor of physical therapy Adam Kliebert teaches you hands-on techniques to complete a full-body massage with a combination of healing touch, Swedish massage and basic foot reflexology. If you have an interest in healing and helping others, this class is a great place to start. It is open to everyone who wants to utilize the techniques for personal use or to explore potential career interests in massage therapy. GEDimageGED prep classes start this week at Colorado Mountain College. Students who wish to enroll in prep classes must attend a registration session Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. for all Carbondale evening classes. Class sessions meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8:50 p.m.

Spring GED prep classes meet in Carbondale on:

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9-11:50am

Registration for Carbondale prep classes is at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 for all evening classes at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 for all morning classes.

Wilderness First Responder Course @ Colorado Mountain College - Spring Valley

This class provides skills and techniques used by guides, trip leaders and others providing primary care in a backcountry setting. Photo of a High Angle Rescue

This class will be taught to the guidelines of the Wilderness Medicine Society. Field meeting dates will emphasize practical skills in backcountry settings. Field days are mandatory on Saturday and Sunday, 2/8 & 2/9, and 2/22 & 2/23. Upon successful completion of the class, students will be awarded Professional Rescuer (CPR) and Desert Mountain Medicine (WFR) certifications. The supplemental course charge includes certifications, textbook and expendable supplies. Minimum age 18 or with instructor permission.

Meets Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 13-Feb. 26. Field days are Feb. 8, 9, 22 and 23. Advance registration is required. Please call 945-7481.
