Library Research Workshops

Location: Pinnacle 325 – Learning Lab

2 Workshops per day: 9-10am and 12-1pm except where noted

Students who RSVP at least 48 hours prior will be fed. Those who do not RSVP can watch us eat.

RSVP at the Library’s service desk or sismith@coloradomtn.edu [include the date and time that you will be attending].

Breakfast Cardio Kick @ Glenwood Springs

Class Description

This class provides a total cardio and muscle body workout. Aerobics include both step and kickboxing moves followed by conditioning using fitballs, dumbbells, body bars and resistance bands to enhance balance, stability, and core strength. There is also a focus on abdominal strengthening and stretching. All of these exercises may be adapted for any fitness level, so all are welcome! Please bring a water bottle and exercise mat to class. Meets Mondays & Wednesdays, 3/17-4/30. Cost: $81. Refund: 3/7.

    Leadville resident and prolific author Bellhouse reads from her work and engages in audience discussion.

This class is a form of Hatha Yoga that utilizes bio mechanical principles of alignment together with breath and a celebration of the heart. Each class is focused on a heart-related theme that brings awareness of how yoga brings us off the mat and into the world. The class is influenced by the principles of Anusara Yoga, which empowers the student to find a sense of ease, and move into challenging poses. Meets Mondays & Wednesdays, 3/17-4/30. The Wednesday class is 15 minutes longer and ends at 6:45. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket to class. Cost: $91. Refund date: 3/7.

Wines of the Rhone @ Breckenridge

Basic Digital Photography @ Breckenridge

A three-part series of lessons designed to introduce beginning photographers to the fundamental techniques of photography with any digital camera. Students will learn the basic settings on a camera, how to shoot with compositions, as well as how to download into a home computer.

Tai Chi for Beginners @ Glenwood Springs

In this class you experience the vast and mysterious universe of Tai Chi. This is an outstanding fitness regimen for senior citizens, but excellent for all ages. The myriad of health benefits include, but are not limited to: improved balance, strength, flexibility and peace of mind. You learn the Yang 24 short form of Tai Chi (and are introduced to Yang 108 long form) as well as practice Chi Kung relaxation and healing movements. Meets Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3/18-5/1. Cost: $81.
