This is a free Academic Success Workshop, organized by the Roaring Fork Campus Learning Center. In this workshop we will learn how to appropriately apply a very useful, but largely ignored type of punctuation: the semicolon. Meets in the Glenwood Center, Room 207. All CMC students are welcome.

Join CMC instructor Miranda Watson for this hands-on workshop on grading with Canvas at the Carbondale campus! This workshop will include:

  • the kinds of graded items that Canvas offers
  • a brief introduction to the Gradebook and its features
  • how to find, launch, and use the Canvas SpeedGrader to grade Assignments and Discussions.

This workshop will conclude with Q&A regarding grading in Canvas. This is your chance to ask an expert your Canvas grading questions and get face-to-face help. Drop-ins welcome. Workshop will last 1 hour, plus an optional 30 minutes for Q&A and additional practice.

This course assumes that participants already have some experience using Canvas, or have taken Canvas: Basics Online or another Canvas training. This hands-on workshop will include:

  • clarifying the kinds of graded items that Canvas offers
  • how to find and launch the SpeedGrader
  • opportunities to practice using the Canvas SpeedGrader to grade various kinds of assignments
  • opportunities to practice inputting grades and muting assignments in the Canvas Gradebook
  • practicing creating Assignment Groups and a weighted total
