This is a three hour workshop on using iPhoto. iPhoto is one of the most popular and fun programs to use on a Mac, an application for organizing, editing, sorting, and sharing your photos. You will learn how to download and view pictures from your camera, how to organize your photos, and how to create events, albums, and slide shows from your photos. You will learn how to edit your photos to improve color and exposure, and how remove red eye. The course also covers how to share your photos via email and on-line. Interested in creating more dynamic slideshows online that will truly spark a group conversation among your course members? You can with VoiceThread! Learn in this online course how easy it is to use VoiceThread’s collaborative online platform to create and share multimedia slide shows with images, documents, and videos. With VoiceThread, participants can leave written, audio, or video comments as they navigate through your slideshow, and the VoiceThreads can be linked to or embedded into Canvas courses or shared publicly. In this course you will learn how to:

  • Navigate through a VoiceThread and the different user roles VoiceThread offers
  • Create a VoiceThread using PowerPoint presentations, images,videos, and other files
  • Edit your VoiceThread and its settings
  • Make comments on a VoiceThread
  • Share a VoiceThread and embed it into Canvas
This course will be held via a Canvas course as well as via VoiceThread’s website. This class is designed to be flexible and accommodate your schedule. There are deadlines for each day’s work to keep the group moving forward together, but participants may work on the assignments at any time of day or night, from any computer (PC or Mac) with an Internet connection and either Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Internet Explorer.

Nutrition Series: Detox 101 @ Glenwood Springs

We’ll cover how to implement and survive a short cleanse and students will leave with all they need to know to reap the benefits of doing a gentle cleanse. Heather Pratt is a Master Nutrution Therapist and has been helping individuals and groups make healthy eating a way of life for the past 7 years. She has taught for the Nutrition Therapy Institute’s Natural Foods Chef Program for the past 5 years and has worked with 100s of clients over the years teaching healthy eating habits. She is currently a Nutrition Writer for Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. Food and healthy living are passions and she love sharing them with other. Cost: $20. Refund date: 4/11.
