Meets the standards for recertification of a Wilderness First Responder certification. Topics to be included are CPR, patient assessment, trauma, medical, and environmental emergiencies. This course is required to maintain a current Wilderness First Responder certification which must be recertified every three years. Certifications are sponosored by Desert Mountain Medicine (WFR) and the American Heart Association (Professional Rescuer CPR). The supplemental course charge includes textbook, expendable materials, and certification fees. The Saturday and Sunday meetings will take place in the classroom and outdoors. The supplemental course charge is nonrefundable. Minimum age 18. Meets Friday, May 9, from 6-9:50pm and Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, from 8am-6pm. Cost: one credit hour of tuition plus a nonrefundable $160 course charge.

This class is a form of Hatha Yoga that utilizes bio mechanical principles of alignment together with breath and a celebration of the heart. Each class is focused on a heart-related theme that brings awareness of how yoga brings us off the mat and into the world. The class is influenced by the principles of Anusara Yoga, which empowers the student to find a sense of ease, and move into challenging poses.
