A low impact exercise using the water’s resistance to increase conditioning. Students will be able to work at their own pace. Students without a pool pass must pay $25 rental fee at the first class to Basalt Recreation Department and must feel comfortable in deep water.

Wire Extravagaza @ CMC in Aspen

Class Description

Each day will be an adventure using metal wire, of different sizes, to create exciting pieces of jewelry. Start with basic wire wrapping, chain making, and jump rings; then move on to head pins, ear wires, and simple soldering and hand-forming techniques. Students will come away with several beautiful pieces of jewelry. Examples of possible finished pieces include an Etruscan link bracelet, hoop earrings, or a group of stacking rings. This class is for all levels. Please call Natasha at (970 618-2944 with any jewelry questions. Students are responsible for metals supplies which can be purchased at the front desk at a bulk, discounted rate of $70. Supplies should be purchased before first day of class. Class Description

Provides students with an experiential learning experience. Provides condensed, intensive instruction from nationally and internationally recognized professional artists in fine arts. Explores advanced studies, including techniques and concepts, as they relate to one or more of the following: ceramics, painting, drawing, photogrpahy, film-making, sculpture, or other media. May be repeated for up to six credits.

This workshop welcomes all skill levels. Students will explore wheel thrown pottery and glazing techniques. Individual instruction and demonstrations will assist students in gaining skills and confidence in the ceramic studio.

Figure Sculpture @ CMC in Aspen

Class Description

Introduces students to basic skills through various art media. This course may be repeated under a different subtitle for a maximum of six credit hours. Encompasses a multitude of one- credit art experiences that expose students to an art form that they may wish to explore further.

Explore the human form in the medium of clay. Class includes the use of a model. Students must drop class one day prior to the start of the class to receive supply fee refund. Students should request a supply list at registration.
