3. Placement Testing

The State of Colorado requires all students to submit ACT/SAT scores, take ACCUPLACER test, or submit transcripts from previous college(s) to accurately place students. Test scores may not be more than five years old.

ACCUPLACER testing takes place at the Buena Vista Campus by appointment. The test is free to students. To make a testing appointment, contact the Buena Vista Campus at 719-395-8419.

There are many great resources for assisting students in preparing for the ACCUPLACER test. Below are three, free websites.

Do not send transcripts to the Buena Vista Campus.

4. Register for classes

Students register for classes by meeting with an Academic Advisor after placement testing is completed or transcripts from other colleges have been received. Meeting with an Academic Advisor assists students with classes, planning, and any questions. Advising appointments are available in Buena Vista or Salida. To schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor, please call the Buena Vista Campus at 719-395-8419.

5. Prepare for classes

Books: Order books from the CMC Bookstore. Financial Aid/Scholarship students may complete a book form at the Buena Vista Campus and have the cost of books deducted from the aid awarded.

Technology: Be sure to log on and navigate using Basecamp and Canvas.
