Provides instruction for interpretation of EKG strips, anatomy and physiology of the heart, using three-lead monitoring as a guide. Twelve-lead EKG may be discussed.

An American Heart Association Blended Learning course; part of the course is completed online, and part in person with an instructor, during the scheduled hours for the class. Art Sampler: Jewelry Basics @ CMC in Carbondale

Class Description

Introduces students to basic skills through various art media. This course may be repeated, under a different subtitle for a maximum of six credit hours. Encompasses a multitude of one-credit art experiences that expose students to an art form that they may wish to explore further.

This class will cover a variety of metalsmithing techniques with an emphasis on jewelry making. We will learn how to use hand tools, torches, files, saws and a dapping block to bend, forge, melt, solder and finish metal wire and sheet. This is a great course for people who would like to learn how to wire wrap, make their own simple jewelry findings and begin adding metal to their work.

Explore which methods worked for you and how to apply them to all aspects of your daily life. Practical in-class exercises allow you to test different techniques to experience which ones suit your lifestyle best. Dean is certified as a Creative Journal Expressive Arts Therapist by Lucia Capacchione, PhD, and has facilitated Creative Journal groups since 1995. He provides individual coaching and counseling for adults and specializes in treating adults with ADD/ADHD, depression, and change-of-life issues. He holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Fine Arts in Art Therapy. He works from his offices in Glenwood Springs and Rifle.

Do you need help? With the Dec. 15 deadline approaching, come to this hands-on workshop to learn the facts about the Affordable Care Act and how to sign up. This workshop provides an understanding of the ACA and the new environment of health care in our country (and in particular our state). Many people are confused about the facts about getting health care. Many are eligible for benefits for which they may not know they qualify.
