Learn to use your iPad to its full potential. This class will teach you how to use your device to meet your own unique needs. If you are unsure of even the questions to ask in how to maximize your use of an iPad, this class is for you! An emphasis will be on teaching the use of apps that promote independence and self-sufficiency, especially for those with disabilities and individuals wishing to ‘age’ in place. Bring your devices to class. Alice Brouhard, RN and Trainer researches applications and devices and teaches others to use technology to support their independence and self-management. That support comes in the form of iPpad, iPpod Touch, smartphones and apps.

Come learn from an expert who has specialized in long term care planning for over 25 years – Eliza Fulton is Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC). Long Term Care planning options have changed over the years and there are now many types of programs to choose from.

In this workshop, gain an understanding of:

  • How to review an existing policy to see if it is still appropriate
  • What a Federal Tax-Qualified LTC Plan is and why it is important.
  • How the Colorado Partnership Program works regarding long term care expenses
  • When Medicare and Medicaid can help with long term care needs
  • New options that integrate life insurance, annuities and long term care
  • Non-traditional options like term life insurance and critical illness plans

Scuba Diving @ CMC in Glenwood Springs

Class Description

Provides basic instruction in scuba diving. Focuses on the knowledge and skills related to swimming and snorkeling, diving equipment, communications, the environment, safety, dive tables, and other pertinent information a student needs for safe scuba diving. This course prepares the student for open water (PADI) certification.

First class meeting begins at the Glenwood Center. All scuba equipment is included (you may use your own). In addition, a required student kit including text, workbook, dive table, and logbook, is $60.00, available at the first class (text may be shared between family members). The kit without text is$35.00. Pool entry is $10.00/session (typcially 5 visits); pool passes do not qualify for entry. Minimum age 17.
