SHRED is an acronym for Synergistic, High Intensity, Resistance, Endurance, and Dynamics. Body Shred is a high intensity, hollistic resistance, and endurance-based fitness plan. It involves synergistic, three-dimensional body dynamics that explore the scope of movement to maximize athletic performance and metabolic potential in 30 minutes. The workout includes a warm-up and cool-down period. Bring a water bottle and a small towel to class. Must be 14 or older to attend.

Fly Fishing I is offered as an introduction to fly fishing. The goal of the class is to enable new anglers to venture out on their own to any body of water and pursue fish with a fly. Topics range from choosing the right kind of gear, what flys to use, introduction to aquatic food organisms, essential casts, and line control to enable the student to make an effective fish-catching presentation. Other topics will include playing, landing, releasing fish unharmed, and finally how to gather information for better trip planning. A materials list is available at the CMC Rifle Campus front desk. Must be 18 or older to attend.

We will take a scenic and enjoyable 2-3 hour horseback ride that ends at camp where we will hve a dinner of steak, potatoes, and other dutch oven treats! Weather permitting, we will be able to do this all over an open campfire! Must be 18 or older to attend. No riders over 280 pounds, please.

The organ called our heart serves an obvious physical function in our lives, it it is equally important as a guide to writing. This four-week guided writing class is modeled on the functions of the four chambers of the heart. The first two sessions will focus on the heart’s need to release what it can’t use. The second two sessions will connect with the heart and bring forward the stories it wants to tell. Come prepared to write from your heart and not your head. This course is for any level of writer, so don’t be afraid to listen to your heart and sign up today! Must be 16 or older to attend.

Adult Survival Course @ Off Campus Field Location

Class Description:

Enjoy nature while learning to survive in the wilderness. You will learn how to keep warm and be found when you’re engaging in outdoor wilderness excursions. Topics covered will include hypothermia, creating an emergency shelter, safely building a fire, and how to signal for help. You’ll also learn what search parties look for and how to put together a simple survival kit. Initially, there will be discussions about the principles of outdoor survival, followed by the practice of skills needed to survive in an outdoor emergency. Rifle City Park Community House, located just a few miles north of Rifle Falls, serves as the perfect place to hold this class. Children must have an attending parent or guardian. Lanny Grant, who has several years experience on search and rescue teams, is a survival expert who will provide you with the knowledge to keep you safe. Please pack a sack lunch for class on Saturday. The first class meets at the CMC Rifle Campus.
