3. Placement Testing

The State of Colorado requires all students to submit ACT/SAT scores, take the ACCUPLACER test, or submit transcripts from previous college(s) to accurately place students. Test scores may not be more than five years old.

ACCUPLACER is an online test and is free to students. To make a testing appointment, go to the Accuplacer Placement Testing Calendar or contact Vicky at vvalentine@coloradomtn.edu or 970-625-6906.

There are many great resources for assisting students in preparing for the ACCUPLACER test. Below are two, free websites.

To submit coursework from other institutions for placement consideration, have the school(s) submit official college transcripts to Colorado Mountain College.

4. Turn in your Immunization records or fill out an exemption

5. Complete Virtual Orientation

6. Register for classes

Students can register for classes by meeting with an Academic Advisor or watching online tutorial videos. Meeting with an Academic Advisor assists students with classes, planning, and any questions.

7. Prepare for classes

Books: Students at CMC participate in the Learning Materials Program (LMP). An affordable flat rate "textbooks in tuition" lease system and service which provides 100% of required materials by the first day or start of semester automatically customized to the student’s schedule. Details are on the Learning Materials Program page.

Technology: Be sure to log on and navigate using Basecamp and Canvas (login required).

9. Additional student resources

Student Support Services (SSS) is a free, federally funded student assistance program for students that are first-generation and/or low-income and/or have a documented disability. Contact Edgar with questions about the program or qualifications at egarciaveleta@coloraodmtn.edu or 970-625-6947.
