This class is a form of Hatha Yoga that utilizes bio mechanical principles of alignment together with breath and a celebration of the heart. Each class is focused on a heart-related theme that brings awareness of how yoga brings us off the mat and into the world. The class is influenced by the principles of Anusara Yoga, which empowers the student to find a sense of ease, and move into challenging poses. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket to class.

Personal Trainer and Human Performance Specialist, Tom Moher, guides you through a series of exercise stations designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone. In this class you experience the vast and mysterious universe of Tai Chi. This is an outstanding fitness regimen for senior citizens, but excellent for all ages. The myriad of health benefits include, but are not limited to: improved balance, strength, flexibility and peace of mind. You learn the Yang 24 short form of Tai Chi (and are introduced to Yang 108 long form) as well as practice Chi Kung relaxation and healing movements.

Shotokan Karate is an effective form of self-defense and a great form of exercise. Shotokan Karate can improve strength, flexibility and cardio fitness. What’s the Deal with Gluten @ CMC in Glenwood Springs

Gluten-free is all the rage right now, but do you really know what that means? In this class we’ll explore gluten – what it is, what it isn’t and why it matters. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why everyone is so obsessed with gluten or if gluten-free is right for you then this class is for you! Heather Pratt is a Master Nutrition Therapist and has been helping individuals and groups make healthy eating a way of life for the past seven years. She taught for the Nutrition Therapy Institute’s Natural Food Chef Program for the past five years and has worked with 100s of clients over the years teaching healthy eating habits. She currently is the Nutrition Writer for Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage and sees clients in her office in Carbondale. Food and healthy living are her passions and she loves sharing them with others.
