Returning BlackboardUser How do I reset my password? How do I log in to Blackboard? Why do I have to type in my login info twice? If I can't remember my CMC Blackboard User Name, how do I obtain it? 
| 1. | A computer with Internet access (see Technical Info for more detail). | | 2. | A browser with cookies and JavaScript enabled (see Technical Info for more detail). | | 3. | An active User name and Password -- see "New to Blackboard" or "Returning Blackboard User." | Students who register for a class are moved over to the Blackboard roster automatically every 24 hours. Instructors set the course(s) as “available” when the course is ready to be accessed. At the latest, instructors may choose to set the course as available the first day of class. If you cannot access your course, your Instructor may not have made it available.
| User Name - Automatically created and will be the same as the user name for your CMC e-mail address if you have been assigned an account (see www.coloradomtn.edu/email for more info on email accounts). Generally, your User Name will be your first initial and last name. If the first initial/last name is already in use, it will be your first initial/last name plus a randomly assigned four-digit number appended to your User Name. Examples: jsmith1234@mail.coloradomtn.edu “jsmith1234” is your Blackboard User Name. | | | Instructors can check the username by accessing the roster in his/her Blackboard site. Access this Roster by selecting Control Panel, then/ List/Modify User, then List All and finally selecting List All a second time. | | | Default Password will be: | | | Your default password will be the last six digits of your Social Security Number. NOTE: If you have not provided your SSN number, the default password will be your 7-digit CMC Student ID number. See Returning Blackboard User info for more detail. Students currently cannot change this password. | SSN 999-99-9999, Default Blackboard Password 999999. | | Does my CMC Blackboard User Name and Password change from semester to semester? | | If you have used CMC Blackboard previously, use the User Name and Password previously used to access Blackboard. Typically, your 7-digit CMC Student ID or Faculty ID number will be the password. Include all preceding zeros. This ID can be obtained from the CMC site where you are registered or teaching class. It also appears on the Student's registration form and other Student documents. This number never changes so do not share it with others. It is used to protect your security and privacy. If you need to have your password reset, contact CMC Support Services at 888-845-0016. Your password will be reset to the last 6 digits of your Social Security Number. Use the "Request Help" link above for more information on accessing Blackboard support. Instructors can check the username by accessing the roster in his/her Blackboard site. Access this Roster by selecting Control Panel, then/ List/Modify User, then List All and finally selecting List All a second time. | | | See Resetting Your Password for step-by-step instructions with visuals or follow the instructions below. | | 1. | Access the Blackboard login screen. | | 2. | Enter your Blackboard Username in the Username field. | | 3. | Select the "Forgot Password?" link. | | 4. | Enter either your First Name and Last Name (as it appears in Blackboard) and your Username or your First Name and Last Name and your email address as it appears in your Personal information area in Blackboard. Then, select the "Submit" button. | | 5. | Select "OK" on the next screen. | | 6. | Open the email that has been sent to you through Blackboard using the email address contained in your personal information area. | | 7. | Select the link provided by Blackboard. | | 8. | Enter a new Password twice, once in the Password field and again in the Verify Password field. | | 9. | Select the "Submit" button. Your password has not been reset. | | 1. | NOTE ADDRESS! Access Blackboard by going to http://coloradomtn.blackboard.com. | | 2. | Select the "User Login" button on the left side of the Blackboard page. | | 3. | | A new page is presented. Enter your User Name and Password in the Login box. This information is case sensitive. Then, press the "Login" button. Remember to turn OFF Auto-complete and Remember Password in your browser. |  | | For Internet Explorer - The AutoComplete feature saves previous entries you've made for Web addresses, forms, and passwords. To delete entries from the Address bar, you must clear your History folder. You cannot clear individual entries from the list of saved entries. Here's how to do this. - On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- Under History, click Clear History.
 OR ... You can configure AutoComplete to save and suggest only the information you want. You can choose whether to use AutoComplete for Web addresses, forms, and passwords, or not use it all. You can also clear the history for any of these. - In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Content tab.
- Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
- Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you want to use.
For other browsers, use the help function to view instructions on AutoComplete. | | | You have probably bookmarked the second Blackboard page presented that has the Login box on it. See Step 3 visual under the "How do I log in to Blackboard" question. You must bookmark the page presented when you enter http://coloradomtn.blackboard.com that has the "User Login" button on it. This introductory page sets a cookie.
