Communications Faculty, Steamboat Springs

This full-time, 9-month faculty position begins in August 2016. The successful candidate will teach communications courses, which will include Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Group Communication and Business Communication. This position is vital for providing general education requirements within Associate’s and Bachelor’s programs as well as supporting concurrent enrollment for local high school students.

Full time teaching load is 30 credit hours or equivalent duties per academic year. Additional faculty responsibilities include community outreach, serving on campus and college-wide committees, student mentorship, advising and recruitment, and performing other duties as normally required of a full time faculty member. Weekend, evening and on-line teaching may be required.

Experience working with students/individuals from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups desired.

Salary range: $57,492 – $74,144 depending on education and higher education teaching experience.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education: Master’s Degree in Communications, or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Communications.

Teaching Experience: Minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or the equivalent (30 credit hours) as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience preferred.

Experience needed in a variety of teaching delivery modes including online; excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility and collegiality are essential.
