In this session we will learn how to:
–Create a free account
–Create a screen capture tutorial
–Upload it to your free server space at Screencast and paste the url in an email or in Blackboard, OR save the .swf video to your computer
–Create a still screen shot, add arrows, text and emphasis boxes –Paste the screen shot into a Word document or email, or save the .png file to your computer
–Use the “History” feature of Jing to see what videos and screen shots you have created
–Log into your account at Screencast.com to manage your uploaded files

Jing is free and easy to use, and allows you to create simple, up to 5-minute-long, narrated screen capture videos.
If you need to add special effects or create longer videos, you may want to consider using Camtasia. Camtasia is approx. $179 for the educational price, but CMC has purchased a volume license. Contact CMC’s Office of Innovations in Teaching and Learning for more information.
