Learn about Apple’s Mac OS X operating system (El Capitan 10.11.6). Explore the core interface elements – the menus, Finder, and Dock – so you can start working with files, folders and applications. Learn how to manage your files so they are easy to find and use. The basic terminology of computer hardware (CPU, memory & storage) and software are discussed and illustrated with hands on exposure to enhance your use of the computer. Learn how to use some of the core applications that come bundled with Mac OS X (Mail, Calendar, iTunes and Safari), and install new apps from the App Store. Basic computer skills recommended. If you own a laptop, bring it to class.
