We all know that employees are the most important asset of any organization. This course will provide supervisors in the ever-changing workplace with tools to understand the major dimensions of the role of supervisor. Participants will learn how to deal with common problems and tricky situations, including managing time and stress and giving constructive feedback. Supervisory topics to be covered include: importance of two-way communication and teamwork; employee empowerment; the importance of accountability; multi-generational aspects of today’s workplace; coaching and mentoring, supervisor’s role in on-boarding new employees and conducting performance appraisals. Practical guidelines for improving your supervisory skills will be discussed. Interaction is encouraged, including discussion of participants concerns and issues they are currently facing. Course content will be of benefit to those currently serving as supervisors, as well as new, and those aspiring to become, supervisors or managers.
