“Ice Age to Space Age: A Year of Following Childhood Dreams” with Dr. Ron Carsten

Rarely as adults with busy careers do we get the opportunity to pursue childhood dreams. Serendipitously, the year 2011 provided just such an opportunity for Dr. Carsten. He started the adventure as a Denver Museum of Nature and Science Teacher Digger at the ice age Ziegler site and continued the adventure by watching the launch of the Mars Space Laboratory Curiosity rover at Cape Canaveral. This lecture will focus on the discoveries at the Ziegler site while waxing fondly about how random events coalesce to bring childhood dreams alive 40 years later.

The Ice Age Discovery Center is located on the Snowmass Village Mall. Parking is provided in lots 4, 5, 8 and 9.

These events are free and open to the public.
