Meets the standards for recertification of a Wilderness First Responder certification. Topics to be included are CPR, patient assessment, trauma, medical, and environmental emergencies. This course is required to maintain a current Wilderness First Responder certification, which must be recertified every three years.
-This refresher course requires a current WFR certification or a card within 1 year of the expiration date. Field days are mandatory and will be held on an overnight rafting trip on 4/30 & 5/1. Upon successful completion of this course students will be awarded Professional Rescuer (CPR) and renewal Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certifications from Desert Mountain Medicine. The nonrefundable supplemental course charge includes textbook, certifications, camp ground charges, access fees, river equipment and expendable supplies. Minimum age 18.
