Class Description

Enjoy nature while learning how to survive in the wilderness. Learn how to keep yourself warm and get found, adding to your parent’s peace of mind when you are outdoors and on wilderness excursions. Memorize the three essentials: Constructing an emergency SHELTER, safely building a FIRE, and how to SIGNAL for help. You will also put together a simple survival kit. On the first day we will discuss the principles of outdoor survival. On days two and three we’ll practice the skills needed to survive an outdoor emergency. Parents can also sign up and participate with their children. Rifle City Park Community House serves as the perfect place to hold this camp, as it is just a few miles north of Rifle Falls, surrrounded by the forest. Bring a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided. Included in the price is transportation to and from CMC to the Park. Come early, as the bus leaves the Rifle campus PROMPTLY at 9:00am. This class is for kids ages 10-14.
