Financial Aid Program Coordinator, Central Services

Colorado Mountain College seeks an enthusiastic team player to support and provide exceptional service to students and co-workers in a progressive academic setting.  Strong customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and cooperatively with other financial aid staff and campus constituents is essential.

Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Program Coordinator performs a variety of duties related to the successful management and maintenance of major federal and state financial aid programs including Direct Loan, the Pell Grant, SEOG and Federal Work Study programs.  Duties will include fund management, monthly reconciliation, file transfers, tracking CMC reporting of funds and reconciliation.  This position is the knowledgeable trainer and coordinator for Return of Title IV aid (R2T4) as well the student Work Study program in collaboration with other Financial Aid team members.  In-depth audit support and the ability to work cooperatively with various audit constituents is essential.  Responsibilities include handling confidential information; monitoring and updating student records and communicating program requirements and changes.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities helpful.

Requirements

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position required. Examples of ideal qualifications include an Associate’s Degree and two years of experience in a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. Direct experience in Financial Aid in Higher Education preferred.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: Microsoft office: Word, Excel, One Note and Outlook are used on a regular basis. Position involves use of accounting fundamentals, audit and reconciliation duties as well has the ability to use independent judgement, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
