Margaret Gilmon plans to continue her research in promoting success and ethnic diversity among nursing students.
Full time faculty at Colorado Mountain College since 2010, Margaret is licensed in both Colorado and Alaska as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
Her clinical experience includes Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery and Emergency Department nursing, as well as being a hospital nursing supervisor. Margaret has also worked in private practice and public heath as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and has served on the advisory board of a community mental health clinic and the development of a SART/SANE program.
Prior to CMC Margaret’s teaching responsibilities have included Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Community Health, Applied Nursing Research, Health Assessment and CNA courses.
At the Breckenridge campus Margaret currently teaches Basic Concepts of Maternal-Newborn and Pediatric Nursing, Complex Medical-Surgical Nursing I&II, Mental Health Nursing, Pharmacology II, and clinical courses, as well as volunteers with the Bristlecone Foundation/Legacy Forest.
When Margaret is not teaching at CMC she enjoys skiing, spending time with family and friends, traveling and learning Spanish.
