Professional Photography Faculty, Spring Valley Campus, Glenwood Springs, CO

This full time, 9 month position will start in August 2014. The professional photography program is an approved CTE program in Colorado. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a diverse software skill set related to digital imaging and new media storytelling, digital capture using still photography and HDSLR video, color management, studio photography and advanced knowledge of Macintosh computers. Colorado Mountain College requires fulltime faculty to: meet teaching responsibilities; advise students; engage in scholarly and creative activities; participate in service activities to the college community and work collaboratively with the organizational structure of the college.

Professional Photography curriculum includes: Photo Image Capture I & II; Digital Capture Processing I & II; Perception & Photography I & II; Computer Orientation 7 the MAC; Photographic Color Theory; Color Management for Digital Photography; Professional Portraiture; View Camera and Lighting Technique; Photographic Style & Genre; Advanced Lighting; New Media Storytelling; Portfolio & Career Exploration. Actual teaching requirements will be based on the skill set of the selected candidate. Salary range: $54,140 – $65,273, depending on education and experience.

Prerequisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

  1. Education or Training: Master’s in Fine Arts (MFA) preferred, Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) required.
  2. Experience: Minimum of five years full time documented related work experience required and a minimum of one year teaching experience required. Teaching in higher education preferred.
