Teaching from Life Experience

“The instructors provide an invaluable aspect to the courses through their own life experience in the field of Fire Science. To have knowledgeable mentors and instructors that are currently in the fire service is priceless.”

-Randall W. Brighton is a Firefighter EMT Basic with the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority. Previously, he served as driver/operator firefighter for the Eagle River Fire Protection District. While in school, he was part of the ERFPD Resident/Internship program and was elected president of the Resident Program.

Education-Focused Profession

“I am a proud alumnus of this very unique institution. Colorado Mountain College provided me with the opportunity, skills, and knowledge to further engage in a firefighting career field that has taken me from small volunteer fire departments to a large, metropolitan agency and back again. I have witnessed, both here and abroad, a transformation of public safety from a primarily vocational job to an education-focused profession.”

-Chief Gary Green of the Red, White, and Blue Fire Department in Breckenridge, Colorado
