Director of Nursing Betty Damask-BembenekBetty Damask-Bembenek, Director of Nursing Education, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992 from Marian College, and her Master of Nursing in 1995 from the University of Phoenix College of Nursing.

Betty is currently doctoral student at North Central University in Arizona, working towards a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis on Organizational Leadership. Her research interests include areas of evaluation and assessment methods, leadership, mentor practices, and civility in nursing.

Betty has been Director of Nursing Education at Colorado Mountain College since 2009, coming to CMC from Metro State College in Denver, where she was part of the faculty for the BSN program.

Prior to moving to Colorado from Utah, Betty served as nurse administrator and faculty member at Weber State University and Division Chair of Health Sciences at Salt Lake Community College. Betty is currently licensed in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, and her areas of clinical practice include Nursing Administration, Education, Emergency and Trauma Services, Medical/Surgical, Obstetrics, Critical Care and Rural Nursing.

She has also been a program evaluator for the National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) for nursing programs at the national level, and is a retired National Ski Patroller and USSA Alpine Race coach. Her teaching responsibilities have included Childbearing families, Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Ethics, Leadership and Management.

When Betty is not working at CMC she enjoys doing many outdoor activities with her husband and three adult children, including skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and traveling.
