As per the vision, mission and values of Colorado Mountain College, CMC aims to help all students who walk through its doors with their individual educational and career goals, by providing a high-quality education that is affordable and accessible. We offer appropriate academic rigor within a supportive student-centered environment, and providing hands-on learning opportunities at every turn.
Why recruit CMC graduates?
In 2014 the Aspen Institute has named Colorado Mountain College as one of the nation’s top community colleges. The Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence honors institutions that strive for and achieve exceptional levels of success for all students, while they are in college and after they graduate.
In 2012 CNN/Money ranked CMC in the top 20 nationally for student success at two-year colleges. The college is also ranked #1 among Colorado’s two-year colleges for graduation plus transfer rates.
Student Achievement and Success
- We are proud of our many graduates who transfer to prestigious educational institutions across the country to further their education.
- CMC is a diverse community of learners. And we know employers appreciate high achievers, who go beyond the status quo. CMC attracts outstanding high school students for dual-enrollment, whose commitment to education is unmatched. We also support hard working adults, looking to change or advance their careers in new ways.
- We appreciate that employers desire candidates who can collaboratively solve real world problems. CMC offers students an array of opportunities for hands-on learning that test their skills, allow them to work with others on important issues and offer new ways to apply their knowledge. Whether it’s studying big horn sheep as part of a Natural Resource Management internship, coordinating a campus-wide waste awareness project or collaborating with local organizations on a community greenhouse project CMC students are actively engaged in the academic experience.
- CMC is excited about the growth of its Bachelor’s degree programs. CMC’s inaugural class of Bachelor’s degree graduates was a few years ago, and they are great examples of ambition and success, and speak to the high quality of academic engagement at CMC.

Campus Visits and Presentations
CMC has three residential campus sites and eight commuter based sites. Build brand awareness of your organization by hosting an information table, offering in-class presentations, or information sessions, and participating in workshops in partnership with Career Services. This is one of the best ways to connect with CMC students and assist them in their career development, while also creating an opportunity to increase students’ understanding of what your organization has to offer. Employers may contact individual campuses directly to arrange for a suitable time for an information table in a high student traffic area.
Career Fairs and Events
CMC hosts various events throughout the year to support career exploration for students and job seeking. In most cases, the College partners intentionally with our local CO Workforce Centers when they have their fall or spring fairs. We encourage employers to connect with those centers to be included on future invitations. Once or twice per year, CMC will hold small-scale career or graduate school fairs at one or more campuses.
All planned events are posted on the Career Services Calendar of Events. Should you wish to inquire about participation in currently scheduled or future events, please contact CareerServices@coloradomtn.edu.
Posting Jobs and Internships
We welcome direct postings from employers on our current Student Job Board. Employers may post job and internship listings for free. Ads will be subject to approval before publishing and expire in 60 days. These listings also appear on the homepage of Basecamp, our online student portal, and in various places on our college website.
Just click on “Submit a Job” in the upper right corner. If it is your first time to the site, you will have to set up a simple profile/account, but then can post very easily thereafter.
