Introduction to Islam (3 credits)

Introduces the Islamic religious tradition and considers its significance in the modern world. Investigates the history of Islam, beliefs and practices, sects, Sufism, and issues of extremism, women in Islam, and Islam in the West. Prerequisite: College-level reading. Cost: 3 credits of tuition.
Stories from Your Past
Wednesday, 5:30-7:30pm, June 12-26 in Carbondale
This summer, discover and set down the stories in you. Read sections of memoirs by others, and then compose your own, with tales you have always meant to write about. Writing themes will include life turning points, losses you experienced and conflicts. Instructor Alison Osius is executive editor of Rock and Ice magazine, and columns editor of its companion publication, Trail Runner. Cost: $60; Refund: 6/10.
The Forgiveness Option Workshop
Thursday, 5:30-8:30pm, May 23 OR June 20 in Carbondale
Explore and experience an effective technology, excerpted from the full Avatar Course, for forgiveness and self-healing. Beyond knowing that we should forgive most of us were never taught how to forgive. Arrive Alive!

Explore living an intentional and authentic life, and the possibilities it can create. Explore questions like “If am I more than my body, thought and emotions - why won’t this voice in my head shut up and why is it always negative?” and “If there is no such thing as time, why am I always late?” Reflect on your life, goals and inner-peace. Tarot Cards 2: Spreads & Readings
Mondays, 5:30-7:30pm, June 3-July 15 in Glenwood
For students who already have a basic understanding of the meanings of the 78 Tarot cards. Learn to create, explore and experiment designing many different spreads of cards in a group setting. Students must bring their own Tarot System (Tarot Total: Rider Waite Tarot Cards with Book, ISBN # 978-3-905021-55-4) and journal. Cost: $64; Refund: 5/31.
Psychic Healing 2
Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30pm, June 5-July 17 in Glenwood
This class is for those who have either completed Psychic Healing 1 or have taken a similar psychic development class and are interested in extending their awareness beyond their physical senses. In this class you learn about auras, how to heal yourself with colors and other techniques, how to communicate with angels and spirit guides and cleaning and protecting your home, office and other spaces. You use the same book as in Psychic Healing 1. Cost: $64; Refund: 6/3.
