Crafting With Wool – Series @ CMC in Rifle

Class Description:

If you have always wanted to craft with wool but weren’t sure where to start or what supplies to use, then this class is for you! Come join Dede Snead on Monday evenings for some creative fun. You will have the opportunity to create items using wool roving as well as wool fabric. The possibilities are endless! This series will be divided into 3 sections; the first will introduce wool roving and sculpting. The second section will focus on using wool fabric to create small gift items and/or ornaments. The third section will focus on making larger projects such as wall hangings or table mats. In each 4 week section the crafters will be able to purchase the craft kit needed for their chosen project. Students need to bring $45.00 to the instructor for the purchase of all 3 craft kits. Please bring your own scissors. Must be 16 or older to attend. No class on 9/7

Social Dance @ Grand Valley Activity Center

Class Description:

Join us for an evening of dancing fun! Men, learn how to lead a women and ladies, learn how to follow a man. Learn social dancing and be able to get around on the dance floor as a couple. We will discuss choices of dance at the class which could include: Salsa, Waltz, Swing, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, and West Coast Swing (majority rules). Couples can learn together, singles will be able to match with another single, or dance with the instructor. This class is held at the Grand Valley Activity Center located at 398 Arroyo Dr., Battlement Mesa. Must be 16 or older to attend. No class on September 7th.

Creative Writing @ CMC in Glenwood Springs

Class Description

This course introduces the basic skills of creative writing, fiction and nonfiction. We will explore how to find the idea fire in your practice writing, construct a story line, develop a main character (even for nonfiction), and create setting. Each session will focus on one aspect: setting, character, theme and story-line/plot. Students will learn the elements of what makes a well-written story, practice creating short pieces of writing in class, listen ad critique other student writing, and revise selected pieces. Come to the first class and see if it fits your needs. Nancy Flood is the author of several award-winning books, including the Arizona and Colorado Book of the Year.

This class will be a full body weight-class that focuses on a variety of different exercises. We will also teach proper form and techniques while using various types of free weights and machines.
