Cross-Country Ski Lessons at Spring Gulch @ CMC in Carbondale

Photo of a cross country skierGet your ski season going strong with some great pointers and practice at Carbondale’s own world-class cross-country trail system at Spring Gulch. Three different, experienced teachers are offering Classic and Skate style classes. Try a class in December, practice what you learn, and come back for a second lesson in January to take your skiing to a whole new level! Students meet at the Spring Gulch parking lot and bring their own equipment. Cost: $25. You must register in advance at Colorado Mountain College to register.

Berit has been skiing teaching and competing for 49 years in Sweden and the U.S. She has a passion for cross-country skiing. She offers:

*For first time skate skiers or those who can’t seem to get going on skate skis. Practice the body position and basic movements that form the foundation for learning how to skate ski.
**For skate skiers that are able to ski in varying terrain for a few minutes at a time, this class will help you find the efficiency you need to cover more ground, matching the different skiing techniques/body positions to the terrain.
***Once a skier has the ability to ski varying terrain without stopping, they are ready to work on carrying momentum and increasing efficiency. Get personalized pointers to help you skate ski faster with less effort.
