Under the supervision of the High School Equivalent (HSE) and English as a Second Language (ESL) Assistant Dean of Instruction and lead faculty, the Teaching Technician will work in concert with Faculty to provide quality learning experiences for HSE and ESL students, working to improve successful completion of the programs. Engaging with students in large group, small group, and one-to-one settings, the Teaching Technician will identify student needs related to the HSE and ESL tests and work with students to increase their performance on the various assessments. This position also serves in an administrative capacity, assisting with paperwork, filing, scanning, and record keeping.
Hours are Monday through Thursday evenings, 6:30-9 PM at the Glenwood Center.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, such as an associate’s degree, or high school diploma/HSE with 1 year related experience.
Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: knowledge of HSE test content and test platforms, and knowledge of language acquisition. Must possess communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, ability to work with a variety of students, incorporating various learning styles, work independently towards established goals and deadlines. Background in education preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner. Strong verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse population, both within and outside the college.
