Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser – President Emerita
Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser served as the ninth president of Colorado Mountain College from 2013 to 2024. Under her leadership, the college completed three strategic plans and experienced significant growth. This included dramatically better student outcomes, over $100 million in capital improvements including affordable housing for students and employees, new academic programs, adding Salida and Poncha Springs to CMC's unique taxing district, and earning recognition as a Hispanic Serving Institution and Colorado's only Dual Mission institution. The Board of Trustees honored her with the title of President Emerita for her outstanding service.
