CMC is All In on the Campus Democracy Challenge

September 17, 2024

CMC Colleagues:

Today is National Voter Registration Day and Constitution Day! A 2-in-1 celebration of American rights (and obligations)!

Earlier today, I signed a national pledge to promote and support voter registration and participation among CMC’s students. In the last election cycle, CMC’s students performed very well, earning CMC gold status in the All In Campus Democracy Challenge. Let’s continue to demonstrate that civic participation matters at CMC. You can view photos from a voter registration event at our Spring Valley campus today, in celebration.

The influence of the upcoming presidential election is unavoidable, but many other “down-ballot” topics and candidates deserve your input.

If you have not yet registered to vote, please take a moment to find the clerk & recorder’s office in your home county. If you are already registered to vote, but want to check on the status of your registration, go to the Colorado Secretary of State’s website.

Don’t forget that in a few weeks, Richard Haass, author of The Bill of Obligations, CMC’s 2024 common reader, will be on our campuses. Please find a time to join these discussions.

As Thomas Jefferson once said, “We do not have a government by the majority. We have a government by the majority who participate.”

Please get registered and make sure your opinion counts!

With Eagle pride,
