How to Apply for First Ascent
Applications are now open for 2026
Students are chosen to participate because of their potential to become leaders and successful students.
Current 8th and 9th grade students enrolled in a school within the Colorado Mountain College district are encouraged to apply for this free leadership program.
Student Counselors at First Ascent are an integral part of the program’s success. Using the leadership skills they learned as past participants, Student Counselors become mentors and effectively help staff deliver the program. The opportunity to become a Student Counselor may lead to future employment opportunities at First Ascent and beyond.
Only students who have already graduated from the First Ascent program may apply to become student counselors.
