Are you 18 or under? Then this is the trip for you! Chile is the center of action-sports in South American media. Given the stunning location, reliable weather, and the ability to capture high-quality action media in reliable conditions, Chile makes the perfect choice to study action-sport media and distribution during the North American summer and earn college credit. Students can be assured that during their time in Chile, they will be able to organize and execute a media plan and get a unique look at a very different distribution model for action sport goods.

Students will register for an online version of ASI 2020/2022 Global Action Sport Business 1 & 2 and ASI 2016 & 2018 Action Sports Media 1 & 2 with components being taught prior to the trip. Students will be required to meet in June 2027 to formulate their strategies prior to departure.

Chile is a great experience for students wishing to pursue a career in action-sports, as it allows them to create an instant resume booster to jump-start their career path. Given the reliability of the region for quality conditions and the ease of access from the Valle Nevado lodging area, students can expect a high-quality, mobile classroom with a unique opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Students will be able to parlay this trip into real-world job opportunities with finished projects created in Chile they can showcase on their resume.

We focus on guided, off-piste zones, with the backcountry accessible from our back door and have many touring options for getting away from the crowds. With small guided groups, the options are endless on any given day, and we will make sure we are hitting the best terrain available. Courses: ASI2016—1 credit & ASI2020—1 credit (Pre-Trip Online); ASI2018—2 credits & ASI2022—2 credits (in the field/Chile)

Not Included in Program Fee:

• Lunch: Available at resort food outlets (~$9-14 USD/Day).
• Student Airfare: Final destination is Valle Nevado, Chile (typically flying into Santiago).
• Equipment Rental: Please note that an avalanche beacon/shovel/probe/pack are required.
• Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance: Highly recommended.
• COVID-19 Costs: Tests, vaccinations, or quarantine costs (if required).
• Additional Fees: Items of a personal nature, passport fees, baggage fees, reciprocity fees, entry or exit taxes (not required presently, but could change).
