Outdoor Leadership Center & Field House: COVID-19 Response
The Outdoor Leadership Center & Field House has always been dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the Colorado Mountain College community, and with a carefully planned and phased approach, the facility will begin to reopen. The Field House Reopening Plan of Action has been created in alignment with CMC’s COVID-19 Operating Plan and utilizing the recommendations and guidelines provided by the Department of Public Health and Environment, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association for clear and consistent messaging.
Extensive precautions are being enacted to provide a safe environment so our members have an opportunity to resume an active lifestyle. While extensive cleaning protocols, enhanced procedures, and social distancing practices will be introduced into the facility, patrons will also be asked to follow the ‘Five Commitments to Containment’ to contribute to the overall success of this reopening plan.
As we navigate through the reopening of the Field House, there will be some new things to expect during each phase. We appreciate your help and understanding as we work through this time together. If you have a specific concern please reach out to the Director of Recreation & Events, Melanie Alexander, at 970-947-8195 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please visit our website for updates and schedule changes.
SPRING 2021 OPERATIONS: MOVING INTO PHASE III
Starting Monday, February 15 the Outdoor Leadership Center & Field House is excited to announce that it will be moving into Phase III of its COVID operation plan. This is in response to Garfield County having been reduced to a “Yellow-Level Risk”, which allows us to expand operations.
The hours of operation will expand from our current hours to Monday – Friday from 6am – 9am and 3pm – 9pm, Saturday from 9am - 1pm, and Sunday from 3pm - 7pm.
Capacity has been increased to 50% and each room still has a posted limit that we ask that all patrons abide by when utilizing the facility. Organized recreational youth and adult league sports are being reintroduced to the facility, this may cause the gymnasium to be closed to members so please respect any posted space closure signage. Mask wearing and proper social distancing is mandatory at all times within the facility. Please make sure that you are diligent about wearing your mask so that we can continue with expanded operations.
With the expanded operations and the county's assessed risk level, the Field House now feels comfortable accepting new community memberships! Memberships can be purchased at coloradomtn.recdesk.com
All individuals are still required to fill out the college’s Symptom Screening prior to using the Field House. prior to your arrival, please complete the online CMC Symptom Screening Form.
Climbing wall operations will remain consistent with the initial Spring 2021 operations plan. The wall will be available for open climb to all those that hold current Field House certifications during the facility's hours of operation. Certification cards must be displayed at all times. The Climbing Wall Coordinator will be available from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Monday - Friday for belay certifications and to belay any individuals that do not have a belay partner.
It is our hope that the county’s level of risk will remain at ‘Yellow’, however, if the risk is assessed at a higher level, at any point, we may have to amend our operations. Thank you for your patronage and patience during these times and we are excited to see you at the Field House!
