The Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center offers free, confidential business counseling for new and existing small businesses.  The YVEC was established in 1999 and has assisted hundreds of local businesses launch and stay viable through changing economic conditions.  Several skilled business professionals donate their time to meet with individuals and discuss their goals and challenges.  We also offer a variety of seminars and workshops to help with the professional development of your small business skills.  Call or email for an appointment.

Business Plan Competition 2022

Thanks to the sponsors, judges and participants for another successful business plan competition in 2022.

The prize sponsors are, the City of Steamboat Springs, the Routt County Commissioners,  Alpine Bank, Mountain Valley Bank, Yampa Valley Bank, Vectra Bank, THPK CPA’s and the Routt County Economic Development Partnership.

Small Business Resources for our rural mountain community

On November 1, 2022 the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center changed our host from Colorado Mountain College to the Routt County Economic Development Partnership.  As part of the RCEDP, the YVEC will continue to serve prospective entrepreneurs and small businesspeople in Northwest Colorado.

For a free and confidential appointment to discuss your goals and challenges, please call or sent and email to the contact information below.  Over the last 20+ years of service to the community, the YVEC has assisted hundreds of locals initiate their new business and many existing business owners work though a challenge.  Typical issues that clients want assistance with include marketing, financial forecasting, organizational issues; operational requirements; business planning; buying or selling a small business, finding funding and basic HR issues.  If we don’t have the answer, a referral to another or a paid professional may be an option.
