CMC Vail Valley at Edwards Green Team

Students, staff, and faculty on the Edwards campus are working hard to advance sustainability. Notable actions include:

  • LED lighting installed in classrooms and offices to reduce energy consumption
  • Aerated, high efficiency flush systems and motion sensor water faucets installed in restrooms
  • Founding the first community garden in Edwards, CO that includes both a partnership with a local ranch that grows micro-greens in the greenhouse to supply to local restaurants as well as internship opportunities for students
  • A robust guest speaker series including such internationally noted speakers as: Maude Barlow, Lois Gibbs, Winona LaDuke, the Lakota Sioux Runners, Frances Moore Lappé and Xiuhtezcatl Martinez
  • A student proposal for water bottle filling stations and recycling bins
  • Composting partnership with EverGreen Waste
  • Partnership with Recycle Across America with use of national, standardized labeling for recycling, compost and trash bins

We are proud of all of our achievements and committed to advancing the Sustainability Action Plan through sustainable efforts for our campus and community.
