Christie Smith is Professor Communications/Humanities at the Roaring Fork Campus and the Dramaturg for Sopris Theatre at CMC. Christie teaches Composition, Humanities, and Literature, including Shakespeare. She is the author of Social Class in the Writings of Mary Hallock Foote (University of Nevada Press, 2009). Christie’s experiences with theatre started out at the Boston Children’s Theatre at age 15, mostly working backstage. She acted in musicals and dramas in the Adult-Children’s Theatre of Lakewood in the early 1980s and directed The Hobbit there. In Fall 2015, Christie played Helen Keller’s Aunt Ev in Sopris Theatre’s production of The Miracle Worker.
