CMC’s vet tech farm hosts annual open house

Halloween-themed event Oct. 26 promises animals, games, costumes and candy

The family-friendly vet tech farm's free open house will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 and will give community members a unique opportunity to tour the farm and learn about the college’s veterinary technician program. It also gives animal lovers a chance to meet the farm’s resident animals including horses, goats, sheep, pigs, snakes and more – and some will even be in costume.

Attendees can also meet vet tech faculty, staff and students, join a spooky scavenger hunt around the farm, take pictures in a photo booth and enjoy treats and giveaways. Halloween costumes are welcome

Veterinary technicians must get formal training in required knowledge and skills and graduate from an American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited program – such as CMC’s – with an associate degree in veterinary technology. The open house is also gives those who might want to find out more about CMC's program to learn more about it.

The vet tech farm is adjacent to CMC Spring Valley, 3000 County Road 114, Glenwood Springs. For more information, contact Leslie Rockey, 970-947-8238, CMC veterinary technology program and facility director.
