Fall into Fitness at CMC Spring Valley Sept. 22
Opportunity to see plans for future Nursing Education Center also offered
Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley is inviting the community to celebrate the first day of fall by attending an open house on campus. Called Fall into Fitness, the afternoon of Sept. 22 is part of a membership drive for the campus’s fitness facilities, located at the Outdoor Leadership Center & Field House.
Additionally, the public is invited to a sneak peek of the future Nursing Education Center, a state-of-the-art nursing teaching facility, which breaks ground in October.

The Field House is not only for CMC students and employees. Memberships are available to all community members.
In addition to a 38-foot climbing wall, moon board and bouldering wall, the Field House features a double-court multipurpose gym, free weights and assisted weight machines and a cardio balcony with treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines and exercise bikes. The space also includes a multi-purpose room for functional fitness and more aerobic exercises.
From 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, community members can tour the Field House and community memberships are available on site for as low as $30 monthly, 25% off the regular rate. During the membership drive, which runs Sept. 20-24, community memberships are available for 15% off the regular rate. These discounts do not apply to a punch pass.
Nursing training in the mountains
The site of the college’s future high-fidelity Nursing Education Center will also be open to the public during the event. The center will provide CMC students hands-on opportunities to develop their skills and practice a wide range of clinical scenarios. College staff, faculty, donors and students will be on hand during the open house, and animated videos and plans will illustrate the scope of the project. Construction begins in October.
