New teaching kitchen at Colorado Mountain College Aspen welcomes guests to open house

Morgridge Teaching Kitchen offers college-level culinary arts and community cooking classes

July 30, 2024 – Colorado Mountain College recently added this commercial-grade teaching kitchen to its Aspen campus for students training in its culinary curriculum, and secondarily for use as a non-credit venue for community cooking classes and dining events.

At nearly 1,200 square feet, the kitchen can accommodate 10 culinary students, or 12 to 24 community members, for cooking classes and dining events. The new facility is equipped with two induction cooktops, a double-oven range, a wall oven and a hearth oven, along with an amply sized student lounge and small study room.

CMC faculty instructor Ari Lewis will be on hand at the open house to discuss the college’s culinary and restaurant management degree and certificate programs, as well as non-credit community education offerings at the new training kitchen.

The CMC Aspen Morgridge Teaching Kitchen open house will take place Friday, Aug. 9, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College Aspen, 0255 Sage Way in Aspen. Admission is free, however space is limited so RSVPs are requested. Contact Jon Shaw, associate dean of academic and student services, at 970-947-8276 or jshaw3@coloradomtn.edu to RSVP.
